| Anything sent by a person and not a business and is valued under 60cnd and marked as a GIFT is brokerage and tax free. Anything over 60 cnd and not marked as a gift is subject to roughly 15% of the value in taxes plus brokerage fees. UPS brokerage charges are outrageous start at like 20cnd and go up from there based on the value of the package USPS has a flat 5cnd brokerage fee dosnt matter the value of the package (I wouldnt be surprised if there was a limit if it was crazy $$$$) I usually get cheaper items sent USPS AIRMAIL PARCEL POST and have them valued at 45US (under 60cnd) and have them marked as a "GIFT" and the sender must be a person not a business. it takes on average 7 days door to door If I am having something more expensive shipped I have it sent USPS GLOBAL EXPRESS MAIL it is fully trackable and delivery confirmation. on average 3 to 5 days door to door I do have things shipped UPS ground which is trackable and delivery confirmation but there customs forms are a pain in the ass and have to be filled out 110% correctly or you get dinged with outrageous brokerage charges. I bet 8 out of 10 packages I get from UPS the forms are incorrect and have to have the sender fax in a rewrite of the customs form so I dont have to pay the brokerage/taxes. on average 7 days door to door I have had 100s and 100s of packages sent to me from the USA and have never had one damaged or lost due to USPS or Canada Post. Now the CUSTOMS guys are a bunch of morons they open packages at random and never reseal them properly. you can tell if customs has opened it as they put special yellow customs tape on it to try and close it up.
